Mark Hicken is a Vancouver lawyer and international internet marketing consultant. His role at Skunkworks spans database design, website architecture, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), and internet marketing strategy for lawyers and law firms.

Mark has a B.A. (Honours) from UBC and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. He was called to the bar in British Columbia in 1990. Since that time he has practiced law at some of Vancouver's leading law firms, including Russell & DuMoulin (now Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP), Lawson Lundell LLP and Legacy Tax + Trusts Lawyers where he continues to practice as Associate Counsel. He is also Vice-President, Legal Services for Access Legal Systems Inc., developers of the LawOne Lawyers Network.

Mark has always been passionately interested in technology and particularly technology as it relates to the practice of law. At the advent of the internet revolution in 1998, Mark created technology that enabled law firms to offer services on the web and enabled Canada's first online legal services through his company, ElectricLawyer Systems Inc. Mark gained national media attention for this breakthrough with feature articles in the National Post, Vancouver Sun and Calgary Herald. He was also featured in articles in The National and Canadian Lawyer magazines.

Since that time, Mark has also been interviewed by CBC radio, featured on various internet sites and been a guest lecturer in the Internet Marketing program at the University of British Columbia.

Mark's extensive and diverse experience in both law and technology brings a unique perspective and depth of understanding to his internet marketing projects for all of his clients.
